Dr. Krawitz has been a resident of central New Jersey for the past thirty-five years. He received his B.S. in the Natural Sciences and Psychology from Muhlenberg College of Allentown, Pa. where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1976. He earned his medical degree in 1980 from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa. He subsequently completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. and a residency in Ophthalmology at the Nassau County Medical Center in New York serving as Chief Resident during his final year. He has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1987.
Dr. Krawitz joined The Eye Center in 1984 bringing to the community new skills in the laser treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, two areas he continues to lecture on and specialize in. He was the Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center for fifteen years and now is the Director of Medical Retinal Services at The Eye Center. Dr. Krawitz is considered a leader in his field and has published numerous articles in distinguished medical journals. He regularly participates at Johns Hopkins University Retina seminars. Additionally, he continues to be an active leader in his community where he has served as a board member of the Warren Business and Professional Association. Through this organization he has helped to raise money for community service projects. Dr. Krawitz has also been a frequent guest lecturer for the Central Jersey Diabetes Association.
